Brief Description
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Engineering Services Examination, 2026 for recruitment to various engineering posts in different departments of the Government of India. The examination will be conducted in three stages: a Preliminary Examination (Stage-I), a Main Examination (Stage-II), and a Personality Test (Stage-III). This is a prestigious opportunity for engineering graduates to secure Group 'A'/'B' services or posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering disciplines.

Payment Mode:
- Fee can be paid online using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or Internet Banking of any bank. Alternatively, it can be paid in cash at any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI).
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1996 and not later than 1st January, 2005. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A Degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; OR
- Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); OR
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); OR
- Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; OR
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (Objective)
- Paper-I: General Studies and Engineering Aptitude (200 Marks / 2 Hours)
- Paper-II: Engineering Discipline Specific Paper (300 Marks / 3 Hours)
Stage-II: Main Examination (Conventional)
- Paper-I: Engineering Discipline Specific Paper (300 Marks / 3 Hours)
- Paper-II: Engineering Discipline Specific Paper (300 Marks / 3 Hours)
Stage-III: Personality Test / Interview
- Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be called for a Personality Test.
- The Personality Test carries a maximum of 200 Marks.
